Salah sits on a rock, frenzy fans go crazy and turn it into a tourist site

Salah has already made a strong impression since joining the Turkish club in the summer, producing a spectacular display during the weekend victory over Galatasaray.
The Egyptian forward scored three times and also provided an assist as Trabzonspor secured a commanding 4-0 win over their rivals in the Turkish Super Lig.
While his performance on the pitch attracted widespread attention, Salah also became the centre of interest away from football after sharing photographs from a visit to a popular location near Trabzon.
Thereafter, the former Liverpool star travelled to Kurtdere Yaylasi and visited the route leading towards the renowned Sumela Monastery. During the trip, he posted several photographs online, including one showing him sitting on a rock.
The image quickly caught the attention of local supporters, who set out to identify the precise location where Salah had taken the photograph.
Once the spot was found, fans began visiting it themselves and recreating the footballer’s pose. The location has subsequently earned the unofficial name “Salah’s rock”.
Fans go crazy
Reports from Turkish media indicate that people have been forming queues to take photographs while sitting in the same place occupied by Salah.
The incident underlines the level of interest surrounding the Egyptian since his arrival at Trabzonspor, with his influence extending beyond his performances on the pitch.
His display against Galatasaray also received significant praise from Turkish sports publications.
Fanatik described Salah’s performance as a show in Trabzon and highlighted his influence during the match, which marked new head coach Thomas Reis’ first game in charge.
Turkiye Today similarly praised the forward, noting that his hat-trick played a major role in setting the tone for Trabzonspor’s emphatic victory.
Salah’s contribution against Galatasaray has therefore given Trabzonspor supporters plenty to celebrate, while his social media activity has unexpectedly turned a previously ordinary landmark into a destination associated with the former Liverpool star.
