Resurgent Bandari seek return to winning ways against in-form Murang’a Seal
By Luke Oluoch, February 18, 2026A resurgent Bandari FC’s quest to further climb up the Football Kenya Federation Premier League ladder is set to come under intense test at St. Sebastian Park, where in-form Murang’a Seal awaits.
The Saturday, February 21, 2026, kick-off clash will see former Kenyan international Osborne Monday pit his wits against Bernard Mwalala as the race for points intensifies.
Murang’a Seal are the odds-on favourites for the clash despite the daunting task posed by Bandari, who are positioned at eight on the pile.
The coastal side has turned a new leaf since the arrival of coach Mwalala. His tenure kicked off with back-to-back 2-1 wins over Kakamega Homeboyz and Tusker FC.
The club has extended the fine run under the former Shabana coach and has only tasted defeat once in their last six games heading into the Seal test.
Seal’s rise
On their part, Seal are currently on an impressive run of five matches unbeaten. Osborne Monday’s charges boast 9 wins, 6 draws, and 5 losses from 19 games (33 points), earning them a spot in the top four, with their strong home performances key to their splendid form.
The club, however, endured a close shave in their last outing, conceding twice in a five-goal thriller against Sofapaka.

Speaking after the draw with Leopards, Bernard Mwalala admitted that his team was lucky to escape with a point, noting the lesson for their next assignment.
“We have to sit down and plan what to do to help our keeper and avoid the forays. Every time you get a point to take into the next game is a positive thing, and we look forward to the next game,” he stated.
Other FKF PL ties
The Dockers will have to keep an eye on Joe Waithira. The mercurial midfielder has been central to Seals’ stealth rise with his goalscoring form and is the current league’s top scorer.
In other league ties this weekend, Sofapaka FC travels to Kakamega to face Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium.
Meanwhile, Kariobangi Sharks and Mathare United will face off in a much-anticipated slum derby.
The two sides head into the clash with Mathare enjoying an edge from their comeback 3-1 win over Tusker FC.
Sharks will also be eyeing better results after collecting a crucial point in a 1-1 draw against KCB.
Gor Mahia will welcome the bankers at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 4:00 pm
