Murang’a Seal suffer humbling defeat, bundled out of FKF Cup
By Luke Oluoch, April 11, 2026Eldoret-based FKF Division One outfit Mfalme FC has bundled FKF Premier League side Murang’a Seal out of the FKF Cup after thrashing them 5-1 in a one-sided encounter at the Eldoret Showgrounds on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Barely a day after fellow giant-killers BB Bread FC crashed out of the tournament, the Eldoret club took up the honours by securing an emphatic win to storm into the competition’s quarterfinals at the expense of Osborne Monday’s charges.
Dominant Start
Led by former Moi University Field Marshal ace Joseph Omondi, the Eldoret side proved too clinical for their top-tier opponents, stunning the visitors with two early goals to take a commanding first-half lead.
Amos Kanyere fired the hosts ahead with a rasping shot that flew past a stranded Seal custodian. The hosts doubled their lead through the sensational Payai Arok. Boasting 17 goals in 20 appearances, Arok turned provider, setting up Felix Ochieng for the second goal.
Arok puts Seal to the sword
Arok returned to haunt Osborne’s side after the break, dispatching a “peach” of a free-kick for Mfalme’s third goal just ten minutes after the restart. He wasn’t finished there; he soon found his second of the day from inside the box to effectively end the tie as a contest.

With the wind firmly in the Buffaloes’ sails, the Eldoret team never looked back. Even a goal from Victor Haki, which counted for a mere consolation for the Premier League side, could not spark a comeback.
The high-scoring encounter was wrapped up in stoppage time as Kanyere completed his brace, netting Mfalme’s fifth of the afternoon as Murang’a Seal’s trip unravelled completely.
Road to the Quarterfinals
The Buffaloes now join heavyweights Tusker FC and Kenya Police, who eliminated BB Bread FC on Friday, April 10, 2026, to storm the competition’s last eight.
Both Police and Julein Mette’s lads claimed 1-0 wins in their respective encounters on Friday to advance.
Tusker became the first side to secure a quarter-final berth after a narrow 1–0 win over Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Stadium.
