Murang’a Seal tie down Munyovi amid squad overhaul
By Luke Oluoch, July 21, 2026Dennis Munyovi, popularly known as “Roro,” has extended his contract with Murang’a Seal as the club undergoes a major squad overhaul ahead of the new Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League season.
In an official statement released on July 21, 2026, the club praised Munyovi’s leadership and unwavering commitment to the team:
“Dennis Munyovi remains a Seal. The tackles. The leadership. The passion. The commitment. When the badge called, the answer was simple,” the club announced.
Munyovi, who previously played for Modern Coast Football Club, rejoined Seal following their promotion to the top flight in 2023.
The goalscoring defender established himself as a mainstay in the squad, featuring in nearly every fixture during the 2024/25 campaign before a head injury sidelined him late in the season.
To further solidify their defense, Murang’a Seal have completed the signing of center-back Nahashon Alembi. The experienced defender arrives from KCB FC, where he served as club captain, before making the switch to the Murang’a-based side.
Alembi’s arrival follows the earlier signing of Malvin Nderitu from Fortune Sacco FC, as the Seals continue to bolster their ranks ahead of the new campaign.
Squad departures: Waithira headlines exits
The squad rebuilding phase follows several notable exits from the club. On June 26, 2026, Seal confirmed the departure of star attacker Joe Waithira, who sealed a move abroad to join Jamus SC after winning the 2026 FKF Premier League Golden Boot.
The club’s goalkeeping department has also seen significant changes, with both Erick Ingiri and Theophilus Magina parting ways with the side.
Additionally, attacking duo Francis Memusi and Victor Haki have officially left the club following the expiration of their contracts at the end of the season.
Seal concluded the 2025/2026 Kenyan Premier League season in 8th place, securing the position with a 2-1 final-day victory against Mara Sugar.
