By Luke Oluoch, August 8, 2026Gor Mahia’s new attacking acquisition, Denis Omedi, has posted an emotional farewell message to Rwandan giants APR FC as he prepares for a new chapter with the record 22-time Kenyan Premier League champions.
The Uganda Cranes international was officially unveiled as part of K’Ogalo’s summer recruitment drive on July 31, 2026, with coach Charles Akonnor eager to reinforce his offensive line with the former Kitara striker.
New journey
Reflecting on his time in Kigali on Saturday, August 8, 2026, Omedi expressed deep gratitude to the club, management, teammates, and supporters, emphasising that the “Arme Patriotique Rwandaise” will always hold a special place in his heart despite stepping out for a new challenge.

“As I turn the page to begin a new journey, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the management, technical bench, my teammates, and the incredible fans of APR FC.
“Thank you for welcoming me, supporting me, and allowing me to be part of this great family. Kigali will always feel like home, and I leave with fond memories and nothing but love for the club. I wish APR all the best in the upcoming season as I take on a new chapter with Gor Mahia.”
New arrival
Omedi’s arrival at Gor Mahia adds proven goalscoring pedigree and continental experience as the club targets success across the domestic league, cup competitions, and CAF action.
He joins a star-studded attack to add an option beyond that of Felix Oluoch. Gor Mahia’s top scorer from the successful 2026 season, with seven goals, and the Ghanaian import duo of Ebenezer Adukwaw, David Okoth, and Ebenezer Assifuah.

The player brings a rich repertoire to Kenyan football, having been crowned Uganda’s top male footballer in 2025. He was also a Puskás contender in the season for his spectacular rabona kick goal he scored in the Uganda league against KCCA FC in the year.
The strike prompted the Kampala team to go for his signature before he left for Rwanda.
