AFC Leopards confirm departure of captain Victor Omune after 5 years

AFC Leopards have confirmed the departure of club captain Victor Omune following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his five-year stay with the Football Kenya Federation Premier League side.
In a statement released by the club on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Ingwe paid tribute to the experienced forward, describing him as more than just a player and thanking him for his leadership and dedication throughout his time at the club.
The club praised Omune for representing the famous blue and white colours with pride, commitment, and passion, noting that his influence extended beyond the pitch. AFC Leopards said his leadership inspired teammates, boosted morale, and helped create memorable moments during his spell with the club.
The club expressed its gratitude to the outgoing captain for his service and wished him the very best as he embarks on the next stage of his football career.
“Captain Victor Omune leaves the club upon expiry of his contract. After serving the club for the past 5 years, we bid farewell to not just a player, but a true leader and friend. Omune leaves as one of the club’s longest-serving players in recent years, having spent five seasons at AFC Leopards and captained the team during his tenure. His departure marks the end of an era for the 13-time Kenyan league champions, who continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
Koloti, Ssetuba depart the den
Also, the club has confirmed the departure of Christopher Koloti, who has left the club upon the expiry of his contract. Koloti joined Ingwe from Kakamega School’s Green Commandos.
The club has thanked the player for the 3 years he has served the team. AFC Leopards have also bid farewell to goalkeeper James Ssetuba who has left the club upon the expiry of his one and a half-year contract.
