French coach Julien Mette recommends Harambee Stars ace Erambo for overseas move
By Luke Oluoch, March 15, 2026Tusker FC coach Julien Mette has praised midfielder Chrispine Erambo, saying he has the potential to move to Europe’s paid ranks.
Speaking to the club’s portal on Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Frenchman said he’s initiated talks with his network to get Erambo a tryout with European clubs.
Good move
“He has big potential, and I’ve already sent images and footage to my network in France. I’d like him to go to Europe; it’ll be a good move for him and Kenyan football,” Mette stated.
Mette praised Erambo’s attitude, citing his willingness to learn and positive disposition. “He’s a good guy, easy to manage, with a good attitude. He never complains or speaks negatively about things or instructions given to him, so he deserves it.”
Mette has been influential in changing the club’s fortunes since arriving at the Ruaraka-based club.

He stressed the need for players to adopt a competitive attitude in the modern game. “He needs to have this ambition that he can do it, and I’m hoping that for the next call-up, we’ll have many players from Tusker FC.”
Erambo was among the 23-man squad called up for Harambee Stars’ FIFA Series friendly on March 27, 2026, in Rwanda. Kenya will play Estonia and the host country in the series build-up matches.
FIFA series
Erambo, who recently returned to the Brewers after a niggling injury, expressed his desire to work hard and justify his inclusion in the national team under coach Benni McCarthy.
“I’m glad for the recovery, and with help from my teammates, I’ve come back,” he stated. “I had to work extra hard to get back my form and had to engage in extra sessions.”
The series will allow Harambee Stars an opportunity to build squad chemistry while offering players exposure against teams from different footballing regions.
The test matches will also provide Kenya with valuable preparation time as the national team ramps up preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations that will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The team is expected to report to the residential camp on March 22, 2026, before departing for Rwanda.
