FKF PL: Police cede more ground in title defence race after APS Bomet draw as Ulinzi fall
By Luke Oluoch, February 22, 2026Kenya Police’s bid to defend their FKF PL title took yet another hit as the law enforcers battled to a barren draw against visiting APS Bomet at the Police Sacco Grounds this Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Nicholas Muyoti’s side contended with another dropped point for the third time in a row in a rain-soaked clash.
The draw leaves the reigning champions at seventh, with their title defense slipping further away from their grasp.
The reigning league champions have zero wins in February, with their last win dating back to the end of January when they claimed an away fixture at Mara Sugar.
Sammy Omollo;s charges approached the clash with the tactician entrusting the goal-scoring duties to the attacking trio of Philip Wasai, Rodgers Kipkemoi, and Hansel Ochieng.

The latter earned his first start after his cameo appearance in last week’s defeat to Gor Mahia after returning from an injury layoff.
Wasai, the team’s skipper, got the first opening to get the visitors to the lead but spurned a brilliant chance in a cagey first half.
Soldiers struggle.
The side thought they had won a penalty when Hansel was brought tumbling down, but the referee pointed to the spot just outside the box minutes before the break.
Their goalkeeper Maxwell Kulili was later called into action in the 74th minute with a fine save to keep the scores level.
Ulinzi Stars’ season woes also continued unabated as the Soldiers suffered a 2-1 loss to Mara Sugar at the Awendo Green Stadium.
Daniel Wafula and Alex Imbusia stormed Edward Manoah’s charges to a comfortable lead.
The second half saw Soldiers battling to restore parity, with Paul Muchika’s 82nd-minute goal counting for a mere consolation.

The defeat leaves Ulinzi languishing among the three teams in the drop zone, along with Sharks and Bidco United. The Soldiers have collected 18 points from 21 games, bettering the bottom-placed Sharks by four points only.
Meanwhile, Manoah’s charges move up to position 12th on 24 points. Muyoti’s charges will next face Sofapaka.
