Chelsea vs Juventus preseason friendly: Kick-off time and latest club transfer reports
By Luke Oluoch, August 5, 2026Chelsea is set to continue their Asia-Pacific pre-season tour by facing Italian giants Juventus in a high-profile pre-season friendly at Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The 2:30 pm kick-off will be the Blues’ third pre-season test after facing Western Sydney Wanderers and English top-tier side Tottenham Hotspur.
The trip in Australia kicked off with a commanding 6–4 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers, and a late defeat to Spurs saw the Blues edged 2–1 on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Transfer dealings
The Londoners have so far made over seven signings, with Danny Welbeck, Argentina’s 22-year-old defender, Valentin Barco, and Jordan Henderson the latest to join the rebuild under Xabi Alonso.

Blues are, however, not done on the incomings despite their main focus being primarily on early preparations on the pitch.
According to reports on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Xabi Alonso’s side is close to finalising an agreement with Rayo Vallecano for left-back Pep Chavarria. The 28-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Premier League side and is expected to be permitted to undergo a medical, as the clubs work amicably towards completing the deal.

The left back, viewed as Marc Cucurella’s replacement, was close to completion. Meanwhile, midfielder Romeo Lavia could head out this summer. Chelsea are expected to receive the offer soon as Monaco steps up their interest in the injury-hit Belgian.
The Belgian is among the players expected to depart the club in a major squad overhaul under Xabi Alonso.
Pedro Neto is also another player with City reported to bid for the Portuguese winger.
New arrival to feature
Meanwhile, several of the club’s new arrivals are in line to feature for the clash. Veteran forward Danny Welbeck trained with the group in Hong Kong alongside summer additions Geovany Quenda, Pedro Neto, and goalkeeper Mike Penders. Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson could also feature.
Returning Mikhailo Mudryk is also among those expected to take part. The Ukrainian rejoined the touring squad and is available for selection for the first time following a 20-month absence
