Former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu now says his joy is drawn from the end of President Uhuru’s tenure.

According to Waititu, he is excited that the President will become a civilian like him. He claimed the president impeached him from Kiambu’s top seat.

This, he said in Nyayo stadium during Kenya-Kwanza’s final rally ahead of Tuesday’s elections.

Waititu was impeached in 2020 after the Senate found him guilty of three charges which were tabled before it by Kiambu County Assembly.

Senate Speaker Lusaka stated the three main charges namely; Gross misconduct, abuse of office and engaging in corruption.

He was the first governor to be found guilty by the Senate.
