Salasya calls for arrest of Russian man over viral videos of Kenyan women

By , February 15, 2026

Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has called for the arrest of a Russian man accused of recording and sharing viral videos of Kenyan women without their consent.

In a statement issued on Saturday, February 14, 2026, Salasya condemned the foreign national’s actions, describing them as disrespectful and exploitative.

The lawmaker claimed that the man had developed a pattern of approaching women in public spaces, striking up conversations and later sharing the interactions online.

“This man must be arrested for shaming our beautiful Girls for recording them. This is unacceptable,” Salasya called.

“I have watched the video, and that man had the skills to trap our girls.”

In addition, Salasya accused the man of humiliating Kenyan women by recording and publishing the videos online.

“That man had an evil spirit, and the worst of all is to record them,” he stated.

He took issue with one particular clip showing the man approaching a woman who was walking with her child.

According to Salasya, the man stopped the mother, asked for her number and later called her in the evening.

Chenye kimenisinya unaona mama kwa street na mtoto, then shamelessly he stops the mother take her no and calls her in the evening. I think that was disrespectful to the child,” Salasya added.

The MP further argued that if the two had met in a different setting, the situation might not have raised eyebrows.

Kama walikutana kama hana mtoto na amuombe number then meet later that could make sense,” Salasya stated.

Russian man

As of February 14, 2026, the foreign national, identified as Yaytseslav (also referred to as Vyacheslav Trahov), had attracted attention across Africa, particularly in Ghana and Kenya, for posting videos of intimate encounters with local women.

In the videos, he is seen recording himself as he approaches women in public spaces such as the Accra Mall in Ghana and shopping malls in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to reports, he used smart glasses to secretly capture these initial interactions as well as private encounters in hotel rooms or Airbnbs.

Shortened versions of the videos were shared on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

The videos sparked widespread debate over privacy, informed consent, and the ethics of filming intimate encounters without consent.
