Ruto mourns MP Ng’eno as fearless and devoted servant of the people
By Nancy Marende, February 28, 2026President William Ruto has mourned Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament (MP) Johana Ng’eno as a fearless and devoted servant of the people.
In a condolence message issued on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the Head of State said he had received with profound shock and deep sadness the news of the legislator’s passing.
“My friend, Mheshimiwa Ng’eno, was a progressive and devoted servant of the people who worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Emurua Dikirr, Narok County,” he stated.
He described the late lawmaker as focused, vocal, and fearless, noting that he stood firmly for justice and equity for all.
According to the president, Ng’eno’s leadership was defined by his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of his constituents.
Ruto said the MP would be remembered for the tangible progress achieved under his leadership in Emurua Dikirr, as well as his exemplary dedication to nurturing and promoting local talent, especially in music.

The president extended his heartfelt condolences to Ng’eno’s family, friends, and the people of Emurua Dikirr during this difficult time.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his friends, the people of Emurua Dikirr, and all the victims and families affected by the helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County.”
The crash
Ng’eno is among six individuals who died in a helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

The helicopter crashed near Chepkieb Primary School in a densely forested area amid heavy rainfall, which is believed to have contributed to the accident.
Videos circulating online from the scene show the aircraft engulfed in flames, with thick smoke rising above the wreckage.
Charred remains were visible inside the helicopter, partially obscured by thick bushes, while onlookers could be seen milling around the crash site.
The helicopter was an Airbus H125 with registration 5Y-DSB.
