Omanga reacts to claims that she secretely received Ksh700K CAS salary from State House

Ex-nominated senator Millicent Omanga on Monday reacted to claims that she received a salary for the non-existent Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) position from State House.

The rumours first shared by controversial blogger-turned-politician Robert Alai alleged that Omanga alongside other ex-nominated CASs had received salaries despite the position being declared unconstitutional.

Alai also called out President William Ruto questioning why he proceeded with the move when the positions were not recognised by the constitution.

“Millicent Omanga went for Ksh 700,000 pay from State House on Friday. Hello President @WilliamsRuto , why are people employed as CAS and being paid illegally in cash from State House while the courts ruled that the position is unconstitutional?” Alai posed.

He further urged the government to operate within the law without cutting through corners.

“Can we please operate within the law? What’s so hard in just obeying the law? Why the lawlessness?” Alai posed.

But in her response, Omanga claimed that the rumours were untrue and a fatal misrepresentation of facts.

She, however, encouraged the Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) to inform her whenever the alleged money will be collected.

“Ndugu @RobertAlai, this is untrue and a fatal misrepresentation of facts. Nonetheless, if you hear when and where this money is being collected, please alert me. Nitakuchotea kakitu,” she wrote.
