Nairobi Water to conduct home visits for customer data update in Ruai and Kamulu
By Valerian Khakayi, July 3, 2026The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced that it will conduct a customer data update and water service assessment exercise in Ruai and Kamulu as part of efforts to improve water service delivery in the areas.
In a public notice issued on Friday, July 3, 2026, the utility company said that the exercise, which began on June 8, 2026, will run for three months and will involve Nairobi Water teams visiting customers’ premises to verify and update customer records, inspect water connections and assess the condition of the water distribution network.
“To continue improving water services in your area, Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (Nairobi Water) will be conducting a Customer Data Update and Water Service Assessment Exercise in Ruai and Kamulu from 8 June 2026 for a period of three months,” Nairobi Water announced.
According to the utility, the assessment will cover water connections, meters, storage facilities and firefighting infrastructure.
Nairobi Water further stated that the findings will be used to identify service gaps, improve response to customer concerns and enhance the quality of water services.

“During this exercise, our teams will review customer information and assess the water distribution network, including water connections, meters, storage facilities and firefighting infrastructure. The findings will help us address service gaps, improve response to customer concerns and enhance service delivery,” Nairobi Water added.
During the exercise, Nairobi Water staff may require access to homes and business premises to verify customer information, inspect water connections and meters, replace faulty meters where necessary, and expose and secure buried meters to make them easier to read and maintain.

Residents have been urged to cooperate with the authorised teams while remaining vigilant. Nairobi Water advised customers to verify the identity of its staff before granting them access by dialling *260#, selecting Tambua, and following the prompts.
