Mosiria shares emotional update after rescuing boy from assault
By David Nthua, February 1, 2026Geoffrey Mosiria, the head of the customer care department in Nairobi County, has come out to condemn a worrying trend of parents assaulting their children.
Through a post on his Facebook account on Sunday, February 1, 2025, Mosiria highlighted an unfortunate incident involving a young boy who suffered at the hands of his own father.
In his post, Mosiria strongly condemned the abuse, describing how the child, instead of finding protection and care at home, was subjected to constant violence.

“This young boy was subjected to constant torture. He was beaten repeatedly, stripped of his dignity, and locked inside the house so that no one could see the injuries and cuts on his body.
“Many days, he was left alone without food from morning until evening whenever his father went to work,” Mosiria said.
He explained that the day he rescued the boy was particularly heartbreaking. The child’s head and eyes were badly swollen from the beatings, and he also had a fever.
“You could clearly see that the child was truly suffering and desperately needed protection,” Mosiria said.
The rescue happened after concerned neighbours noticed the child home alone when the father forgot to lock the door. They immediately called Mosiria, who acted without hesitation.

Mosiria also raised concern that the matter had earlier been reported to the area chief and Nyumba Kumi leaders, but no action was taken. The father is currently in hiding.

The boy is now safe at a children’s home, and Mosiria personally facilitated his treatment at Mbagathi Hospital, where he received urgent medical care. He confirmed that the child is now recovering well.
According to Mosiria, the mother, who is from Uganda, fled due to domestic violence, leaving the boy without immediate family nearby.
Mosiria appealed to Kenyans to help locate any relatives or family members who could safely care for the child.
“No child deserves to suffer in silence. No child deserves to fear their own parent. Let us be the voice for this boy.
“Let us protect him. Let us stand for every child who cannot defend themselves,” he said.
He urged anyone with information about the boy or his family to come forward or share the message widely.
