Monday blackout to affect parts of 3 counties

The interruptions are scheduled to last several hours in each area. Residents and businesses have been advised to plan and take necessary precautions. In a post on X, Kenya Power wrote, “Good evening, the following areas will be on planned power maintenance tomorrow (16.02.2026).”
Nairobi County
In Nairobi, the areas of Pangani and Akiba-Kabiyet will be affected. In Pangani, the blackout will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and will affect Forest Inn, Forest Road, Mbono Road, Pangani S/Center, Agoi Road, Ndovu Inn, Pamba Road, Premier Academy, Jubilee Headquarters, and surrounding customers.

In Akiba and Kabiyet, electricity will also be interrupted from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The affected places include Kabiyet, Akiba, Moi Educational School, Civil Servants, Uhuru Camp, Langata Deliverance, part of Dam Estate, Uhuru Camp Police, Total Gas Station, Mbagathi Road, Jonathan Clog School, Airport View Estate, Bible Society, part of Langata Road, and adjacent customers.
Kajiado County
Parts of Kajiado County will experience outages in Ilasit and the surrounding areas. The blackout will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and will affect Loitoktok Town, Tarakea, Ilasit, Kimana, Rombo, Elerai, Isinet, Namelock, Inchalai, Itilal, parts of Mbirikani, and adjacent customers. Residents are urged to make arrangements for electricity-dependent activities during this period.
Kericho County
In Kericho County, parts of Bureti will be affected by planned outages. The electricity interruption is scheduled from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and will cover Jamjii Powerhouse, Jamjii Town Factories, Changoi Town Factories, Kipkereny Village, and adjacent customers. The utility company advised that the work is necessary to maintain a reliable electricity supply in the region.
Residents in all affected areas are advised to prepare for the blackout by securing appliances and planning essential activities around the scheduled interruptions. Businesses, schools, and households should take precautions to minimise inconvenience.
