Missing Macmillan Kiarie’s father tells court son was taken away in unregistered vehicle
By Zipporah Ngwatu, July 21, 2026A witness, the father of the missing Macmillan Kiarie Mugo, Steven Mugo Kiarie, has told the court that his son was taken away in a motor vehicle without a registration number.
According to Steven, in pursuit of looking for his lost son, they spotted a cart operator near a mini supermarket within the vicinity of the plot his son lives on.
Kiarie’s father, who was in the company of his son’s uncle, showed the cart operator a photo and asked him if he had seen the person in it.
In response, the cart operator, whose name he did not ask, informed him that the exact person in the photo had been arrested and placed into a vehicle while he was watching.
Dramatic arrest
He told them that he saw some people arresting a man and bundling him into a waiting black double-cab motor vehicle, which did not have a registration number.
“My lord tulipotoka kwa ploti kuna mahali kuna mini supermarket tukapata kijana alikua mkokoteni, tukamuonyesha picha ya Kiarie, akatueleza kuna mtu alishikiwa hapo na gari ya double cabin ya black,” Steven told the court.
“Pia alituambia gari yenyewe haikua na registration number,” Steven added.
Further, the father informed the court that, according to their informer, Kiarie was taken away by three men.
Appearing before Justice Alexander Muteti on Monday, July 20, 2026, he pleaded with the court to help him find his lost son, stating that his family has been devastated for the last month.
“My lord, mimi nakuja kuomba usaidizi wa kijana yangu aliyepotea, watu watatu walitoka kwa gari wakamshika wakamweka kwa hio gari na wakaenda naye,” Steven pleaded with the court.
The court also heard that on the day Kiarie got lost, he was captured by the plot CCTV cameras as he switched off his house lights and left carrying a jacket.
