Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo has responded after a young man’s persistent public declarations of love for her that have gone viral on Facebook.

The man, identified as Ken JA Obera, has in recent weeks flooded his Facebook page with posts professing affection for the legislator, repeatedly tagging her and sharing romantic messages that quickly drew the attention of netizens.

His posts, written in a mix of English and Kiswahili, suggested unwavering determination, insisting that nothing was impossible and that love had no limits.

Among the messages shared were declarations such as “There is nothing impossible on Earth; kila kitu ni possible inalingana tu na akili ya mtu” and “Falling in love with me should not take you a long duration.”

He went on to refer to the MP using affectionate nicknames, calling her “Milly Mabona, my Abebo,” and urging her to remember him as she went to sleep.

In other posts, he claimed to be waiting for her in Kisumu and even mentioned a promised date, further fuelling online curiosity and speculation.

As the posts gained traction and reactions intensified, Odhiambo broke her silence by responding in a light but pointed manner.

Sharing one of the viral posts, the MP on Friday, December 26, 2025, appealed to her followers to shift the focus away from the romantic claims.

“This young man has found a way of polarising his page. Please help him by commenting even about the weather or Christmas,” she wrote.

Millie’s love life

Millie Odhiambo’s love life has largely remained private despite her high-profile political career.

In 2024, the Suba North MP publicly introduced her husband, Mabona Magugu, revealing they have been together for over 30 years.

“Let me introduce my husband, Elder Mabona. After all that dancing, my husband is an elder of the church…that is why he is not dancing,” she said.

The rare moment offered Kenyans a glimpse into her personal life, which she has consistently kept away from the public spotlight.
