President William Ruto’s message
On his part, President William Ruto has sent a New Year message to Kenyans, highlighting progress made in 2025 and outlining key priorities that he says will define the country’s transformation in 2026.
In a statement on December 31, 2025, President Ruto said 2025 marked a year of demonstrable progress in key sectors, including health, agriculture, and education, noting that the country laid a firm foundation for economic take-off.
He stated that Kenyans had begun to reap the dividends of hard work and deliberate investment, adding that the government now has a clear roadmap to make 2026 a turning point from promise to prosperity.
The president said the government has chosen to organise the economy around work, production, and exports, with deliberate investments in infrastructure, energy, and skills development.

According to him, these efforts are aimed at creating jobs, reducing poverty, and restoring dignity for all Kenyans.
He added that the National Infrastructure Fund and the Sovereign Wealth Fund will play a central role in driving this agenda while safeguarding the interests of future generations.
Looking ahead to 2026, President Ruto outlined several major projects set for completion or launch.
“In 2026, we will complete building the Talanta Sports City Complex and the Bomas International Convention Centre, accelerate the tarmacking of 6,000km of roads, including the Rironi-Mau Summit road, begin the Naivasha-Narok-Bomet-Kisumu-Malaba Standard Gauge Railway, launch the Galana Kulalu Dam to irrigate 300,000 acres of land, and commence the construction of a modern world-class airport at JKIA,” he stated.
President Ruto emphasised that national transformation does not require miracles but rather a clear vision and leadership committed to delivering results. He said the government’s leadership will be measured by impact, not rhetoric.
“Happy New Year 2026. May God bless you all. May God bless Kenya,” he said.
