List of areas to experience blackout on Tuesday, February 24
By William Muthama, February 23, 2026Kenya Power has announced that parts of seven counties will experience scheduled power outages on Tuesday, February 24.
In an X statement on Monday, February 23, 2026, the company said the outages are part of routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving service reliability.
“Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (24th February 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. For the advance notice,” Kenya Power noted.
Nairobi County
In Nairobi, residents in Kahawa, Loresho, and Molongo will be affected. Power will be off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Kahawa Barracks, parts of Kenyatta University, Soweto, Congo, and adjacent areas.
Loresho locations, including Vetlab, Loresho Ridge, parts of Kangemi/Centre, Shinyalu, University of Nairobi, Kapgatagat, Mukabi, and Tego, will also face outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Molongo Garages and AIC Kasina will experience blackouts from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Uasin Gishu and Migori counties
In North Rift’s Uasin Gishu, Langas, Gitwe, and Jijenge Quarry areas will have power off from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Meanwhile, Ngechech and Ngeria areas, including Kampnyamisa, Lelboinet, Nigeria Girls, Koros Sec, Tegut, Kapng’etuny, Ndubenet, and Belekenya, are scheduled for outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In South Nyanza, Rongo, Kanga, and Opapo, including Rongo University, Nyarach, Kameji, Maryland, and Kodero Bara, will experience blackouts from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Embu, Murang’a, and Nyeri counties
In the Mt. Kenya region, Embu areas such as Gikuuri, Ugweri, and Ena will have electricity off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, covering schools, markets, and hospitals. In Murang’a, Khumbuni residents will also be affected during the same hours.
Nyeri locations, including Mahiga, Ndunyu, and Kagonye, along with local schools, markets, and villages, are also scheduled for outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 .m.
Mombasa and Kwale counties
In the Coast region, Mombasa areas, including Likoni ACK Church, Co-op Bank, Lakers, Centi Beach, and surrounding neighbourhoods, will have power off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Parts of Kwale County, including Kwale Town, Tiribe, Kinango, Mtwapa, Kanamai, and Malindi Kibokoni, are also scheduled for outages during the same hours.
