Kenya Power explains services Kenyans can quickly access on its short code
By Steve Ireri, September 2, 2026Kenya Power has reminded Kenyans that they can quickly access multiple electricity-related services through its short code, allowing customers to handle several needs from their mobile phones without having to visit the utility provider’s offices.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the utility company urged customers to dial *977# to access a range of services conveniently through one platform.
Kenya Power described the short code as a single point through which customers can access various services relating to prepaid electricity, postpaid bills, incident reporting and other customer needs.
“Dial *977# today and unlock multiple benefits! Your power, your rules, all in one code!” it wrote.
The utility listed several services available through the short code, giving customers a simpler way of managing their electricity accounts and accessing important information.
One of the services available through *977# is prepaid services, which allows customers using prepaid electricity to access services relating to their tokens.
Customers on the postpaid system can also use the short code to access bill-related services, giving them another avenue through which they can manage and obtain information about their electricity bills.
Kenya Power also included an option for customers to report incidences, providing a direct channel through which members of the public can bring electricity-related incidents to the utility’s attention.
The short code also features Jua for Sure, another service listed by Kenya Power among the options customers can access through the platform.
“One Code, Multiple Services You can now access all Kenya Power services by dialing *977#. Information 1. Prepaid services (Tokens) 2. Postpaid services (Bill) 3. Report Incidences 4. Jua for Sure 5. My Receipts,” KP wrote.
Customers can further use the code to access My Receipts, allowing them to obtain information relating to their payment receipts through the same platform.
Kenya Power has therefore brought together several customer-facing services under the *977# short code, meaning customers do not have to remember different codes for each of the services listed by the utility.
“Dial *977# today and unlock multiple benefits! Your power, your rules, all in one code!” Kenya Power said in its message to customers.
