‘It will be brains Vs dimples’ – Babu Owino mocks Sakaja
By Charles Ouma, February 18, 2026Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has mocked Governor Johnson Sakaja while poking holes into his records at the helm of Nairobi County.
The youthful MP dismissed the governor’s record, asserting that managing the affairs of the county requires more than just dimples and urging voters to use their brains in the next elections.
“I want to tell Nairobians never to put their trust in such a born incompetent governor. This time round, Nairobi will not reason with dimples; we will reason with brains. It will be dimples vs brains and it’s up to you to choose what will salvage you from the shackles of unemployment within Nairobi,” he asserted in a press conference on Wednesday, February 18,2026.
Babu’s promise
Babu, who is warming up to a political duel pitting him against Sakaja, who has also expressed the intention to defend his seat, came all out, bashing the county boss.

He accused Sakaja of reducing the city to a mess, claiming that the governor is incompetent and has left the city worse than he found it.
He claimed that the agreement that was signed between the county government and the national government is a mask for corruption.
Sakaja defends deal
Sakaja joined President William Ruto at State House on Tuesday, February 17, 202,6 where a cooperation agreement was signed to support roads and housing infrastructure, modern waste management systems, improved water and sanitation services, street lighting and public safety.
“Today, I joined the President H.E William Ruto to sign a historical cooperation agreement with the National Government, unlocking Ksh 80 Billion for the city,” he stated.
“The cooperation Agreement does not transfer county functions nor weaken devolution. Instead, in the true spirit of devolution, it is a lawful statutory collaboration expressly anchored on Section 6 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act,” he explained.

The deal has seen him come under fire with focus shifting to its legality, how the agreement will be implemented and whether its execution will match its stated intentions.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo, are among those who have questioned its legality, with the Senator indicating that he will use all means to challenge the agreement.
