Friday blackout to affect parts of 4 counties

Kenya Power has announced a blackout that will affect parts of four counties on Friday, February 6, 2026.

In a public notice issued on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the utility company said the planned interruption is part of routine network maintenance.

In Nairobi County, the outage will affect parts of State House Road, Mamlaka Road, and Lower State House Road. It will also impact University Hostels of Nairobi, Radisson Blu, State House Girls, Arboretum, and nearby customers. Power will be off from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

In Nandi County, residents and businesses in Kaptangunyo and surrounding areas will experience a power interruption from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.

Several areas in Nyeri County will also be affected. These include Mukurweini Town, Icamara, Davis, Muhito, Ngoru, Kihuti, Kiangondu, Kimondo, Thangathi, Ithanji, California, Kiuu, Mbugua, Ujamaa, Nguyoini Ack, and nearby customers. Power will also be off in Riamukurwe, Wambugu Farm, Gatitu, Micha Market, Thunguma Children, Senior Wambugu, Githoithiro, Gatitu Market, Kagumo Teachers College, Kihoro Forest, Meskin Dailies, and adjacent areas. The blackout in Nyeri County is scheduled from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

In Mombasa County, customers in Mwache Dam, Lustangani, and surrounding areas will experience a power outage from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
