Daddy Owen: Sifuna & Babu are the future, ODM fumbled
By Charles Ouma, February 12, 2026Renowned gospel singer Daddy Owen has stated that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East member of Parliament Babu Owino are the future, adding that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has fumbled in its latest move to oust Sifuna.
In a series of tweets shortly after Sifuna was ousted on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Daddy Owen unpacked the mistake and the losses following yesterday’s move, relaying his disappointment as a registered member of the party.
The singer stated that ODM is on an unstoppable downward spin, detailing several events that have seen the party inch closer to its deathbed, with Babu Owino and Edwin Sifuna holding the promise of the future amid the chaos in the party.

“Him (Sifuna) and Babu are the future, ODM fumbled,” he said.
Daddy Owen claims ODM is dead
He noted that the death of Raila Odinga marked the death of the party, with Sifuna’s ouster driving the last nail into the coffin, marking the end of an era for a party that was at one point the most popular one in the country.
“Bro, sahii, it’s not about Sifuna; it’s about the death of Raila… Sifuna’s case is just adding the last nail to the coffin of ODM’s death,” he stated on X.
The singer unleashed his raw pain, confirming that he is deeply troubled by the blunders committed by the party as a registered member.
ODM’s National Executive Council ousted Sifuna and replaced him with Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo at a meeting in Mombasa on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The move sparked reactions, with notable personalities weighing in.
Nelson Havi invites Sifuna to DCP
Senior Counsel Nelson Havi has since invited the Nairobi Senator to join the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), claiming that Sifuna is an intelligent man who could not be tolerated by fools.
“Edwin Sifuna, welcome to DCP. Fools cannot tolerate intelligent men,” Havi, who is eyeing the Westlands Parliamentary seat, wrote on X.
On his part, renowned activist Boniface Mwangi praised Sifuna as a principled man who shaped an era and urged him to soldier on, writing:
“Thank you, @edwinsifuna, for being a principled leader and refusing to bend the knee to demagogue and dictator Kasongo. I believe you will continue to defend the ODM party from hyenas and sellouts. With or without the party, you remain an important voice for the people of Kenya!”
Sifuna is set to address a press conference today, Thursday, February 12, 2026.
