Why Diamond’s marriage to Zuchu may be his greatest rebrand yet
By Valerian Khakayi, August 7, 2025For years, veteran Tanzanian musician Naseeb Abdul Juma, widely known as Diamond Platnumz, has been a force in the East African entertainment industry, topping music charts and gossip columns in equal measure.
With his energetic performances, catchy cross-genre hits, and a love life that keeps fans talking, the Tanzanian star has built a reputation not just as a musical giant but also as a charming heartthrob with a wild romantic streak.
However, with his recent marriage to fellow WCB signee and singer Zuhura Othman, aka Zuchu, a new chapter seems to be unfolding, one that could mark the most significant rebranding move of his career.
Marriage
Diamond and Zuchu’s relationship started with rumours, however, the self-proclaimed Simba, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, announced that he was off the market by sharing photos of himself with Zuchu in Islamic traditional wedding attire on his official Instagram account, accompanied by a long cryptic message.
By formalising their union, Diamond is doing more than just settling down, because he is also rebranding his music brand.
Zuchu, as a talented artist in her own right, adds weight to this rebrand. Together, they represent a power couple who can blend music, business, and personal life into a compelling public image.

The Playboy Persona
Before Zuchu, Diamond’s love life was a high-speed rollercoaster, playing out on social media and in the tabloids. His relationship with Ugandan businesswoman and socialite Zari Hassan was perhaps the most publicised, stirring two children but ending in a dramatic split.
Shortly after, Diamond was linked to Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobetto, with whom he also shares a child. That relationship, too, did not last long they had the most dramatic fallout ever witnessed online among ex-couples.
Then came Kenyan singer and former radio host Tanasha Donna, mother to his youngest child, whose relationship with Diamond also ended abruptly.
At some point, with all the breakups, the Wasafi CEO was branded a playboy, painting him as a man who thrived on attention but struggled with emotional consistency.

Rebrand
In showbiz, rebrands are rarely accidental. For Diamond, marriage may be his most calculated pivot yet, away from relationship dramas and toward growth, maturity, and being a stable family man.
If he plays his cards right, Diamond’s marriage could elevate his music career even further since there will be no relationship dramas, only producing quality songs.
For a celebrity whose fame has often been entangled with controversy, Diamond’s marriage to Zuchu offers something refreshingly different and the promise of a new man.
