However, you do not need to worry or buy another token, as Kenya Power provides a self-service option that allows prepaid customers to retrieve their latest token details directly from their mobile phones.

The service enables customers to access recently purchased tokens in case the SMS is deleted by mistake, lost among other messages, or becomes difficult to trace. All you need is your mobile phone and the meter number linked to the token purchase.

Here are steps to follow to recover your deleted Kenya Power token message.

Step 1: Dial 977# and select Prepaid Services (Token)

Start by dialling *977# on the phone number used to purchase your Kenya Power token.

The system will first ask you to select your preferred language by choosing either English or Kiswahili.

After selecting your language, a list of Kenya Power services will appear on your screen.

The options include prepaid services (token), postpaid services (bill), reporting incidences and anonymous reporting.

To retrieve your deleted token message, select Option 1: Prepaid Services (Token). This option gives prepaid electricity customers access to services related to token purchases and meter details.

Step 2: Select latest token

After choosing Prepaid Services (Token), another menu will appear with the following options: Buy a token, the latest token, token details, and manage the meter.

Select Option 2: Latest token to access your most recent Kenya Power token purchase.

Step 3: Add your meter number

The system will then prompt you to enter your meter number.

Once you provide the correct details, Kenya Power will display your latest token information, including the token number that was sent through SMS when you made the purchase.

This service provides a convenient way for customers to recover their electricity tokens without visiting Kenya Power offices or making another payment. Whether you deleted the SMS accidentally or cannot find the message, the *977# self-service platform allows you to retrieve your latest token details quickly.
