‘Zakayo ashuke’ – Willie Oeba engages PSV passengers as he continues with his anti-Ruto crusade
By Charles Ouma, February 27, 2026Activist Willie Oeba has taken civic education to the public, boarding a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) and mobilising Kenyans to register as voters.
The artist shared a video showing his engagements with Kenyans in a PSV on Thursday, February 26, 2026, as he mobilised them to register as voters in readiness for the 2027 elections and called for Zacchaues to climb down.
In an apparent reference to President William Ruto, who has in the past embraced several nicknames, including the one used by Oeba in his civic education, the activist tore into the president’s record as he tabled a strong case on why voters should consider using their power to send him home at the ballot.
The video posted by the activist on his X account shows Oeba emphasising his resolve to send President William Ruto home in 2027. Oeba stated that registering as a voter is a crucial step, followed by casting the vote that will decide Ruto’s fate.

“Ati Zakayo afanye nini? (What should Zacchaeus do?) He asked, with the passengers responding that he (Zakayo) should come down.
Unfulfilled promises
Turning to spoken word, the artist gave the passengers a taste of his talent as he called out the president over promises that remain unfulfilled.
He cited a promise made by Ruto that the government would enlist graduates in a paid internship programme, lamenting that what the graduates got was wheelbarrows as part of empowerment.
“Dear Mr President, the same students you promised paid internships in 2017 are the same graduates you are offering wheelbarrows to as empowerment in 2020,” Oeba said.
Known for using his art to call out social injustices in Kenya, Oeba has been a fierce critic of the president and his associates.
Willie Oeba slams Jalang’o
Most recently, he called out Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, over the latter’s dalliance with Ruto.

He dismissed Jalang’o’s record as an MP, opining that he performed dismally after failing to achieve less than 40 per cent of what he promised. And has since turned to chasing clout to keep his political career alive and remain relevant.
“Struggling to fit in but inakataa. Imagine kama ungefanyia tu Wakenya kazi hata 40% of what you promised, hungehave ku clout chase hivi, we mzee. Umekuwa TikToker,” Oeba stated.
