Vera Sidika shuts down iPhone 17 pressure
By Valerian Khakayi, January 18, 2026Veteran socialite and entrepreneur Vera Sidika has addressed fan questions about her phone preferences, shutting down any notion of keeping up with the latest trends.
Taking to her Instagram account on Sunday, January 18, 2026, Vera shared a message where a fan recently asked her why she did not have the new iPhone 17, calling her a “trendsetter”.
Vera responded candidly, questioning whether trendsetters like her own investments or luxury cars like a Range Rover, adding that she never buys items out of peer pressure.
She explained that her influence and style are not defined by owning the newest gadgets, saying she never buys items out of peer pressure.
“Huna iphone 17 Mbina boss vee ba wewe ndio trend setter? A fan asked Vera.
“Lmaoo, hao trendsetters wako na investments? Ama ata Range Rover? I never buy stuff out of peer pressure. My real day one fans know I’m not fussy about the latest phones. I had an iPhone 8 for 8 years and am currently using an iPhone 13 Pro. Maz will only change if it gives me problems or heavy space issues,” Vera responded.

The fan went on and told Vera that her iPhone 13 camera was excellent and that her pictures looked amazing.
In her response, the socialite said that if she already had a phone with a good camera, there was no need to rush to buy the latest model.
She added that her friends who own the iPhone 17 often still use her phone to take pictures.
“Basi hii camera ya 13 ni motoo your pics ukuwa kali sana,” the fan said.
“Yes, if I have a phone with a good camera, why do I need to rush to buy the latest? My iPhone 17 friends usually still wanna use my phone to take pics,” Vera replied.

When another fan asked where she bought her phones, the mother of two said she had trust issues buying phones from anywhere else and only purchased them physically from Apple Stores in the US, mostly when she was in California.
I guess zenye huletwa, Kenya ni fake. Where do you buy your phones, ma’am? A fan asked.
“I told you all I have trust issues buying phones from anywhere else I only buy physically from Apple Stores in US, Mostly when I’m in California” Vera answered
