Media personality Joyce Gituro has light-heartedly called out the struggles of single mothers, saying they need a place to vent.

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, she made the remarks in a video while laughing, turning a serious topic into a relatable and humorous moment.

She explained that single mothers go through a lot and sometimes just need a space to release stress. She said her message was not heavy but meant to reflect everyday experiences.

“So, former President, before you retired, you promised us, sana sana sisi single mothers that unatutengeneze amahali pa kuenda kupiga nduru,” Joyce Gituro said.

She continued to describe how single mothers often deal with things alone. She explained that many do not have people checking in on them, making the need for such a space feel real.

“Hatuna mtu anatuuliza, halafu tunarudi kwa nyumba,” Joyce Gituro said.

She went on to question what happened to the idea, still maintaining a playful tone. She said some people could really use such a place now.

“Hiyo place ulitengeneza ama ilienda wapi? Some of us need it now. Wuehhh…” Joyce Gituro said.

Humour around single mothers

Joyce Gituro’s comments were made in a joking way, even as they touched on real experiences. Many people could relate to the feeling of wanting a break, and humour can sometimes make it easier to talk about such situations.

This comes after she reacted to a video by Trisha Khalid in December 2025, where the actress warned women about dating Luo men. Joyce shared the clip and showed that she understood the message being passed.

“Wueeeeh, I leave this here! Good evening, my people,” Joyce Gituro said.

Kama kwa cv yako hujawai ku indicate ushawai date a luo man, usiwahi sema you have been through a lot, you have not,” Trisha Khalid has said at the time in her video.

Trisha went further to stress her point, warning women to take things slow. Joyce shared the message as part of her reaction to the discussion.

“Tulia hapo mama, tulia wakupange. Tulia wakuvunje mpaka figo, pua, mdomo,” Trisha Khalid said.
