Thee Pluto hints at vying for MP seat

Former FOREX trader and content creator Thee Pluto has left fans scratching their heads.

This is after he hinted at vying for an MP seat via the Rigathi Gachagua-led Democracy for Citizens’ Party (DCP).

Through a story on his Instagram account on Sunday, January 18, 2026, Pluto suggested that he may be ready to step into politics, even as many Kenyans continue to debate whether influencers should join leadership.

In the first post, Pluto appeared to link his thoughts to the growing political conversations around betrayal and accountability, hinting that he wants to be part of a movement he believes will defend ordinary citizens.

“Returning the river where it belongs. Or I vie for a MP seat using DCP so that we can chase away betrayers?” he wrote.

The message was shared as he danced to a legendary Kikuyu melody, a Mau Mau song that many Kenyans associate with resilience, sacrifice, and standing firm through hardship.

Pluto’s post quickly caught attention online, with some netizens praising him for thinking about leadership, while others questioned whether he was serious or simply testing the waters.

Although he did not mention which constituency he would be interested in, his words left many reading between the lines, especially because he directly referenced DCP, a party that has been making headlines since its launch.

His short but loaded statement also sparked debate on social media, with supporters arguing that young people should be encouraged to participate in politics, while critics urged him to focus on content creation and business.

Start

In the next Instagram story, Pluto followed up with another cryptic message, which appeared to reflect his mindset about taking risks and facing the fear of failure.

“Most people fail because they are afraid of even to start. I would rather fail than not to start at all. Because it is only by trying I know I can win,” he wrote.

The message added weight to his earlier political hint, suggesting that he may be preparing his followers for a new chapter, or at least opening up a conversation about ambition beyond social media.

For now, Thee Pluto has not issued an official statement confirming whether he will be on the ballot in 2027, but his posts have already ignited curiosity, with fans keen to see whether he will turn his words into action.
