Singer Vivianne breaks silence ahead of Sam West’s anticipated wedding
By Valerian Khakayi, December 11, 2025Renowned Kenyan singer Vivian Wambui Ndirangu, widely known as Vivianne Kenya, has finally spoken out as her ex-partner, motivational speaker Sam West, prepares to tie the knot, marking the first time she has publicly addressed the upcoming wedding.
Speaking with Milele FM presenter Ankali Ray on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Vivianne made it clear that she holds no bitterness and wishes Sam West well as he enters a new chapter of his life.
“Of course, life has to move on na mimi pia nimepata mtoto, nimekuwa ulaya sasa nimekuja kutembea kidogo,” Vivianne answered after being asked whether she was happy for the couple.
She added that life is made up of seasons, and once a season ends, it is important to embrace change rather than dwell on the past.
“We live in season; season fulani ikiisha, you cannot bring the dead back to life, lakini unaka unasema let us move forward kila mtu afanye kila kinamfurahisha,” she added.
Vivianne’s current life
The singer moved to the US after breaking up with Sam West, and she was later blessed with a baby boy. However, she has chosen to keep her current love life private.
She has only disclosed the name of her newborn and revealed that she will be living in both Kenya and America.
“Nikiwa ready nitawaambia lakini mujue mimi sahi ni Kenya America hiyoo ndio maisha yangu,” she added.
“Mungu amenibariki na baby boy anaitwa Jasiri.”
Sam West’s wedding
As he prepares to wed his lover, Precious West, in a highly anticipated wedding set for next Saturday, Sam made it clear that the past is behind him and he is ready to build something stronger and more grounded.
Sam talked about their relationship journey, emphasising that everything is unfolding in God’s timing.
“At the right time, bibilia ianasema each one of us will have a mate, hakuna mtu atakosa mtu miaka ikimbie kuna ule mtu mungu atasema mtu wako,” Sam West said.
He further explained that the photos he shared on his Instagram account, which many thought were of the wedding, were only of their engagement, adding that the wedding ceremony is just days away, and to him, it’s more than an event, it is a spiritual milestone
Sam believes in starting marriage on the right foundation, anchored in faith and intention.
“Hiyo ilikuwa engagement, harusi ni wiki ijayo,itakuwa jumamosi tunaambia mungu atusaidie kwa sababu ni kitu mzuri sana kufanya kitu njia ya mungu, unahakikisha ndoa inaanza on a good foundation makossa ya kitambo haturudii,” he added.
He also spoke about the modern approach to relationships, saying there is no need to waste time once families approve.
“Siku hizi hakuna kuwaste time wazazi wakisema ndio unangoja nini, ili usianguke kwa temptation harusi haitakangi u waste time,” Sam West noted.
“Kwa hii dunia ukianguka unafaa uamke, ata bibilia inasema ukianguka mara saba wewe amka tembea tena huwezi baki kwa mambo ya kale.”
Break up with Vivian
Sam West and Vivian were together since 2016, and held their traditional wedding in March 2018 before breaking up in 2022.
On April 16, 2023, Vivian confirmed that her marriage to West had ended. Sam was not only Vivian’s husband but also her music manager, and their relationship was widely publicised.
“When it comes to relationships, especially nowadays, they are unpredictable. Some things stopped working in our relationship, and that is why it broke. I think there was a lot of pent-up anger,” Vivian said during a past interview with a local station.
“There was a lot of betrayals. There are some things he wanted from me, and his patience run out. We were now getting into the next phase of our life.”
