Senator Allan Chesang reveals Ruto gives him marriage advice, encourages family time

Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang has revealed that President William Ruto gives him personal advice, including guidance on marriage and family life.

In a podcast on Friday, April 17, 2026, Chesang said the president is always available to pick up his calls and offer support whenever he reaches out. He explained that their conversations go beyond politics and also touch on personal matters. According to him, Ruto encourages him to balance work and family responsibilities.

He added that he values advice from people close to him, especially those who guide him in both public and private life. He said one person has played a major role in shaping how he understands leadership and life balance.

Chesang explained that President Ruto has been a constant source of advice in his life. He said that whenever he calls, the president responds and gives him direction on different issues. According to him, the advice includes political decisions, family matters, and how to manage time. He said Ruto often reminds him to slow down and create time for family.

Ruto’s guidance

“Hata his position, mahali yuko saa hii, anytime I call, anashika, ana ni advice, na ana ni advice vitu mingi,” Allan Chesang said.

He went on to say that the president also speaks to him about marriage and personal balance. Chesang explained that Ruto advises him to remain calm and avoid pressure while handling both politics and home life.

He added that the president encourages him to prioritise his family despite the demands of leadership. According to him, these conversations have helped him grow in different areas of life.

“Mambo ya siasa, mambo ya ndoa, ananiambia tuliza, try and create time for family, you know,” Allan Chesang said.

Chesang also said that he sees Ruto as a father figure who is always willing to guide him. He explained that the president not only advises him but also checks on him regularly. According to him, this relationship has helped him understand politics better and also improved how he handles personal decisions. He said the support has been consistent over time.

“He is like a father I never had,” Allan Chesang said.

He further shared an example of how the president once responded to a concern he raised about the price of maize. Chesang said he texted Ruto after noticing changes in the market. He added that the president immediately made calls and followed up on the issue.
