Dancer-turned-Arbantone singer Sean MMG has revealed that fans often misunderstand him as proud and unapproachable.

Speaking during a quick-fire interview with SPM Buzz on Saturday, May 16, 2026, Sean said many people assume he is arrogant and would not respond to fans if approached.

However, he insisted that this perception is wrong, adding that behind the camera, he is a very interesting and friendly person.

“One thing fans misunderstand about me is that they assume I am proud, like someone who would not talk back if you meet them, but behind the camera, I am a very interesting person,” Sean said.

During the interview, Sean also revealed that one Kenyan artiste he feels deserves more recognition is singer Papa Nyosto from the group Hood Boyz, whom he described as talented and fiery.

“One Kenyan artiste I feel deserves more hype is a singer called Papa Nyosto from the group Hood Boyz. Hood Boyz is the group behind the popular song ‘Kawazim’. He is fire,” he said.

He further highlighted his song ‘Utasaka’, saying it is one of his most overlooked projects despite the effort and energy he put into writing it alongside YBW Smith.

Sean MMG said the song carries a message about searching for love and struggling to find a partner who matches one’s standards, adding that it remains special to him even though fans did not give it enough attention.

“A song of mine that I feel people slept on is ‘Utasaka’. That song, we did a collabo with YBW Smith, and I remember we wrote it with our heads high. We talk about looking for a partner and never finding one good like us,” he added.

On his personal life, the singer revealed that he is currently in a relationship, saying he loves everything about his girlfriend and cannot single out one specific thing that stands out about her.

He also mentioned that one thing he finds cool about her is that she comes from a different place.

“I am dating also and I can’t pick one thing about my girlfriend, to be honest, I would say it’s everything about her. I can’t choose one thing. The fact that she is from another place is also cool about her,” he said.

Sean MMG went on to say that if music did not work out for him, he would have considered other careers such as acting, DJing, law, movie writing, or even becoming a pilot.

The artiste also admitted that his friends often complain about his forgetful nature, saying he tends to forget conversations shortly after they happen.

“And if music disappeared today, what I would do for a living is maybe become a movie writer or actor. I could also be a DJ, a lawyer or even a pilot. The habit my friends hate me for is that I am very forgetful. We may speak about something now and after 30 minutes I don’t remember,” he shared.

Despite the misconceptions about his personality, Sean MMG maintained that he remains focused on his music career and continues to grow within Kenya’s fast-rising Arbantone scene, while appreciating fans who support his work and understand his true character.

“My most lit, my biggest ‘I made it’ moment was when I went to perform in Australia. You can imagine my first show, when my name was called, people started cheering loudly. I felt like I could explode,” he said.
