Rose Muhando says only God can approve marriage, refuses pressure from Kenyan pastor
By Paulette Mboga, January 18, 2026Tanzanian gospel artiste Rose Muhando has said that marriage in her life can only happen with God’s approval, as she dismissed pressure and claims linking her to a Kenyan pastor.
She made it clear on Saturday, January 17, 2026, that love alone does not mean marriage and that she cannot be forced into any union.
Speaking while addressing claims that she was married to a pastor in Kenya, the Tanzanian gospel artiste firmly denied the allegations. A Kenyan pastor had previously said that he and Rose were married, a claim she publicly rejected.
“Kupendwa sio kuolewa,” Rose said, stressing that being loved does not automatically lead to marriage.

She explained that marriage is a serious decision that must be guided by God, not people. She added that she does not want to speak badly about the pastor involved.
“Sitaki kuongea juu ya pastor kwa sababu pamoja na yote bado ni mtumishi wa mungu,” she said, choosing respect over confrontation.
God’s approval comes first
Rose said that even if someone proposes to her, she cannot accept without seeking God’s guidance.
“Ukinichumbia nitakwambia subiri niulize mungu,” she explained, adding that no one should pressure her to say she loves them.
She noted that even visiting her family does not change her stance.

“Hata uje kwetu nyumbani, mimi lazima mungu aniambie ndio,” she said, underlining that God’s voice is final in her decisions.
Rose also admitted that she desires marriage like many women, but faith comes first.
“Kama mwanamke ningependa kuolewa lakini mungu anasema nini?” she asked, pointing to her commitment to spiritual direction.
The gospel singer earlier addressed rumours that she secretly got married in Kenya. She denied the reports and dismissed claims linking her to Kenyan pastor Lumbasi, saying there is no such marriage.
When asked about the secret union, Rose shut it down.
“Haya hamna. Sikiliza, mimi ni mtoto wa mungu, mimi ni mtumishi wa mungu,” she said during the interview.
She insisted that she does not hide the truth about her life. “Chochote changu nakiweka wazi lakini ikiwa hakuna, hakuna, ehh,” Rose said, adding that the claims should be ignored.
