Ringtone Apoko sets condition for marrying a single mother

Kenyan gospel musician Alex Nyachonga Apoko, widely known as Ringtone, has shared his views on marriage, children, and what he considers a family ideal.
Speaking during an interview with Milele FM, Ringtone revealed his openness to dating and marrying a single mother under certain conditions.
He said that at his current stage in life, he now views children as a blessing rather than a burden, adding that in his understanding, success in life is not only measured by money but also by having an open mind and maturity when it comes to family and responsibility.
Ringtone emphasised that people who see children as a burden have not yet understood life fully. According to him, children should be embraced as part of growth, love, and purpose rather than a financial or emotional inconvenience.
“Kwa ile age nimefika nimerealise watoto ni blessings, ukiona mtu anaona watoto ni mzigo bado hajafaulu kimaisha na kufaulu kimaisha si ati kuwa na pesa mingi ni wakati akili yako imefunguka,” Ringtone said.
Marrying a single mother
The veteran musician further revealed that he is open-minded when it comes to marriage and that he would consider marrying a woman with children, depending on the number.
Ringtone explained that he could accept a single mother with one child, two children, or even up to four children. However, he emphasised that anything beyond that would not fit within his personal preference.
Additionally, Pamela Njoo, hitmaker, also spoke about his long-term vision of building a large family, saying he would ideally want a total of seven children, combining both his own and those he may accept into the relationship.
“Mke nitakae mpata watoto saba ni lazima alafu mimi niko open minded, nikipata msichana ako na mtoto mmoja nitamkubali , mwenye ako na watoto wawili nachukuwa,na wa mwisho ni mwenye ako na watoto wanne nachukuwa alafu naongezea watatu wanakuwa saba,” he added.
Ideal wife
Ringtone, who has been on a long journey of searching for a wife, further noted that he now feels prepared to settle down when he finds the right woman who matches his values and vision for family life.
According to him, his ideal relationship is rooted in faith and prayer, emphasising that his ideal wife should be a God-fearing, prayerful woman who prays seven times a day and is ready to have seven children.
“Sahi nahitaji kusettle sasa natafuta millennial mmoja ama Gen Z,” he disclosed.
“Mimi natafuta dem mwenye ni God-fearing, prayerful mwenye anaombanga seven times in a day na ako tayari kupata watoto saba.”
