Obidan Dela banned from going live on TikTok day before ‘Kwa Mbae’ fundraiser
By Steve Ireri, April 25, 2026Content creator Obidan Dela has revealed that he has been temporarily banned from going live on TikTok, just a day ahead of the highly anticipated ‘Kwa Mbae’ fundraiser scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026.
In a statement shared on TikTok on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Obidan disclosed that his account had been reported by some users, leading to the suspension of his live-streaming privileges. He expressed frustration over the move, noting that it would take time before he is allowed to go live again on the platform.
“I have bad news. I just found that some people tried to report my account, so now I have been suspended from going live. But it will take time before I am allowed again to go live. Guys, please stop that; it’s not okay,” he lamented.
He urged those behind the reports to stop, maintaining that his efforts have been driven by a genuine desire to help the viral ‘Kwa Mbae’ boy, whose real name is Musa Kihara.
Obidan insisted that he has been supporting the boy with an open heart and questioned why anyone would feel offended by his efforts to uplift another person. He emphasised that his intention has always been to change the boy’s life for the better.
“I am helping ‘Kwa Mbae’ with an open heart, and if it is paining you that I am helping him, it’s okay, but I am just trying to change his life,” he shared.

Despite the setback, he reassured his followers that the fundraiser would proceed as planned.
He encouraged fans to follow his backup account and noted that he would still go live through alternative platforms, as well as through other TikTok accounts.
“I am helping ‘Kwa Mbae’ with an open heart, and if it is paining you that I am helping him, it’s okay, but I am just trying to change his life. Guys, now go and follow my other account, the backup account,” he said.
He added that fellow content creators who will be present at the event are also expected to livestream, ensuring that supporters can still follow the proceedings.
Obidan further expressed optimism that his main account would eventually be restored, while calling on Kenyans to embrace a culture of helping others rather than tearing them down.
“I know people reported the account, so I cannot go live, and people cannot watch how the fundraiser we have set for ‘Kwa Mbae’ will roll. I will be live on other platforms, and even here on TikTok, I will be live using another account, and other TikTokers who will be here will also be live during the event. The account will come back. But let’s normalise helping people because I don’t understand why people would feel bad, yet I am helping a fellow boy. There is nothing I am gaining from all that. I have sacrificed my time, my effort, and the boy has been loved by people, and people have accepted him, so let’s just rally behind him,’ he said.
