Nora Muendo opens up on starting baby shop empire with just Ksh14K from husband
By Steve Ireri, March 3, 2026Entrepreneur Nora Muendo has revealed how a modest contribution from her husband helped her build a thriving business empire in the baby products sector.
Speaking in a video shared on TikTok on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, Muendo shared that her husband gave her Ksh14,000 in 2018, which she used to launch her first baby shop.
“He gave me the KSh14,000 in 2018, and I am happy that I am developing,” she said.
She highlighted that his encouragement and support have been pivotal in her journey to business success.

She noted that the initial investment has grown into a chain of over seven baby shops, and she has ambitious plans to expand to more than 100 branches in the coming years.
She credited her husband for motivating her to wake up early and for consistently supporting her business ventures.
“This husband of mine is the one who encourages me to wake up early. Thanks to him for his support; because of the way he has backed me, my business is going to open over 100 branches, I promise. Look at the KSh14,000 he gave me to start my business; see how it has grown. I now have over seven baby shops,” Nora added.
Kamba festival impact
In other news, Nora explained how attending the Kamba Festival every year shaped her personally and professionally.
Speaking after meeting one of the cultural event’s founders, Rick Be, Nora recounted that she has never missed a single edition of the festival and described an occasion where she even had to pass through the fence to gain access while her baby was just three months old.
“Hi Rick Be, I am a fan so much. Let me tell you, I am one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Kamba festival. I have never missed even one edition. The last one, I even passed through the fence to gain access, and at that time my baby was just three months old,” she shared.

She expressed pride in her Kamba heritage and emphasised that supporting fellow Kambas is important, noting that her roots and cultural engagement have inspired her to achieve success.
Hailing from Makueni County, specifically Mbooni, Muendo highlighted that such events have played a significant role in motivating her and providing opportunities to connect with her community.
“I am a Kamba, and supporting a Kamba is important. You also have to win. I am from Makueni, specifically in Mbooni,” she added.
