‘Never take sides’ – Jimmie Kajim warns Kenyans after Ritchie and Rena reconcile
By Valerian Khakayi, February 20, 2026Media personality and event MC James Muiri, widely known as MC Jimmie Kajim, has warned Kenyans against advising or taking sides in couples’ fights after film director Richard Kamau, alias Director Ritchie, and his wife, Rena Solomon, reconciled months after separation.
In a statement shared on his official social media accounts on Friday, February 20, 2026, Kajim reminded fans and followers that when misunderstandings arise in families, the wisest thing to do is pray for the couple rather than take sides.
He further urged netizens to exercise caution when commenting on the personal lives of couples, especially those who have been together for years and those who have children.
“Never take sides when it comes to two married people,” Kajim urged.
“When misunderstandings arise in families, sometimes the wisest thing you can do is pray for the couple ,not pick sides. Especially for people who have been together for years… people who have children… two mature lovers who have built a life together.”

Kajim on marriage
The MC emphasised that marriage naturally has its ups and downs, and it is by God’s grace that relationships endure.
Kajim cautioned against rushing to judge or choosing sides when rumours about a breakup surface, noting that reconciliation often comes with time, reflection, and honest communication.
“Marriage has its ups and downs & that’s inevitable. It’s by God’s grace that everything stands. And when rumours start flying that a couple is no longer together, be careful. Don’t rush to judge. Don’t rush to choose a side,” he added.
“Many times, it’s only a matter of time before they sit down, talk, evaluate their mistakes, and reconcile… then wewe utaachwa wapi?”
Kajim expressed joy at Ritchie and Rena’s reunion and prayed for continued blessings over their marriage.
“I’m so happy for this beautiful couple. May God give you a fresh start. We declare that no weapon formed against your marriage shall prosper,” Kajim stated.
“15 years of investing in love is not a joke. May love always win. God is love.”

Ritchie and Rena
“We all make mistakes sometimes. None of us are perfect, and in moments of weakness, we may fall short. But through the mercy of God, we are given another chance another opportunity to grow, to forgive, and to fight for what truly matters,” the couple’s joint message reads.
“By His grace, we have been given another chance to fight for our marriage, to rebuild with love, patience, and understanding.”
