Content creator Murugi Muyi has questioned the continued glorification of rapper Tupac Shakur, highlighting the singer’s criminal past.

Munyi, while watching a documentary on Diddy, shared his concerns about how Tupac is remembered and celebrated despite his past convictions.

In her remarks on Friday, December 19, 2025, Munyi said, “Hellooo??? Tupac was also a convicted r*t and we out here wearing t-shirts with his face on it like??!!!”

She expressed frustration over how the rapper has been idealised, noting that much of Tupac’s fame is tied to his early death.

“He has definitely been glorified because he died young, but he does NOT seem like he was a good person either, guys,” Munyi added.

Munyi explained that her thoughts came while he was on the final episode of the Diddy documentary.

“I am on the final episode of the Diddy documentary, and I haven’t even finished. I think I have 20 minutes left. I have so many thoughts,” she said.

She described being struck by the way the documentary covered the murders of both Diddy’s associates and Tupac, and how this coverage contrasts with public admiration for the rapper.

Re-examining Tupac’s legacy

Munyi questioned whether society is comfortable continuing to celebrate Tupac despite his criminal record.

“Are we still comfortable that everyone wears a Tupac T-shirt and everyone glorifying Tupac despite that he was a convicted r*t?” she asked.

She acknowledged Tupac’s talent, saying, “I mean, I get that he died young. But obviously, the fact that he died young now just means that the rest of his life he has been glorified like Oh my God, he died so young, he was an amazing rapper.”

However, Munyi emphasised that talent does not erase wrongdoing.

“Yes, he was an amazing rapper, but he was literally a convicted r*t. Are we just gonna breathe past that?” she asked, challenging the public to consider the full picture of Tupac’s life.

According to the content creator, talent and fame don’t erase actions, and society should think carefully about who we choose to celebrate.
