Nairobi’s Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has intervened in a sensitive case involving a 16-year-old girl who had been working as a house help and is now seeking justice over unpaid wages and abrupt dismissal.

In a statement shared via his X account on Monday, May 18, 2026, Mosiria said the matter was brought to his attention by the President of House Managers and House Maids, Brian Muhatsi, who asked him to help highlight the girl’s situation.

“Today evening, the President of House Managers and House Maids, Mr. Brian Muhatsi, reached out to me to help air the story of a 16-year-old girl who had been employed as a house help. The young girl alleges that her employer refused to pay her salary and later chased her out at midnight following a disagreement,” Mosiria stated

Adding;

“We reached out to the employer, who in her defence stated that she had already paid the girl. However, she did not provide any evidence to support the alleged payments. We shall be following up on this matter to ensure that justice is served and that the young girl gets what is rightfully hers. From the response given, the employer appeared to be withholding important information, and this raises serious concern.”

Mosiria further noted that the matter will not be left hanging in the air, promising continued follow-up until clarity and justice are achieved.

I have urged Brian Muhatsi to pursue the matter to its conclusion, and together we will ensure the young girl gets justice.

Beyond the dispute over wages, Mosiria said the 16-year-old has expressed a desire to return to school and continue her education, a dream that now hangs in the balance between hardship and hope. Mosiria appealed to well-wishers to step in and support her academic journey.

“The girl has also expressed her desire to go back to school and continue with her education. If there is any well-wisher willing to sponsor or support her education, kindly reach out to me or contact the girl directly,” Mosiria stated.
