Mosiria sends an appeal after man he rescued from the streets goes missing
By Charles Ouma, March 3, 2026Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has appealed for help after a man he rescued from the streets went missing.
Mosiria detailed that he rescued the man who was homeless on the streets and in a worrying state and organised for the man to be taken to Mbagathi Hospital for treatment.
“I rescued this man from the streets and took him to Mbagathi Hospital, where he received medical attention,” Mosiria stated on Facebook on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
According to Mosiria, the man appeared to be struggling with depression, which he linked to being abandoned by his family.

“He also seems to be struggling with depression and other mental health challenges, possibly after being abandoned by his own family.
Ditching treatment and going missing
He revealed that the man absconded from Mbagathi hospital after one week of treatment, leaving behind his medication.
“After one week of treatment, he absconded from the hospital and left behind his medication,” he added.
His whereabouts remain unknown, with Mosiria urging the public to assist in tracing him.
“If anyone has seen him or has any information about his whereabouts, kindly contact me. I am urgently looking for him,” he stated.
Mosiria has been on the front line helping the needy in society, going out of his way to impact lives.
Mosiria cautions philanthropists and well-wishers
Drawing from his experience, he issued a warning to philanthropists and well-wishers to avoid sharing their personal phone numbers when raising funds for the needy.
“Unaposaidia mtu peana number yake aweze kusaidiwe direct, kwa sababu naona watu wengi wanaposaidia wanapeana number zao za kibinafsi ukipeana hiyo number ile pesa ya juu inaenda wapi?” Mosiria stated during an interview with local YouTubers.
He called for transparency while helping needy members of society, with proper channels and accountability in fundraising.

He told well-wishers and philanthropists who have been acting as middlemen while attempting to help others to consider using formal systems or verified accounts instead of personal contacts, which allows donors to follow up and confirm that their contributions reach the intended beneficiaries safely.
“Si semi kwamba hawafanyi vizuri, wanafanya vizuri but wakuwe wakipeana number ya yule anasaidiwa alafu tuna follow up tunahakikisha kwamba kweli alisaidika na ile pesa alichangiwa alipata kwa simu yake,” he added.
