Mosiria appeals for help for woman claiming judge husband dumped her after stroke

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has shared the story of a woman seeking help after her life took a difficult turn following a stroke.

In a statement shared on his X account on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Mosiria said the woman travelled all the way from Mombasa to Nairobi to present her case personally.

“This lady visited my office today after travelling all the way from Mombasa to share her difficult situation and is seeking assistance,” Mosiria stated.

According to Mosiria, the woman narrated how her marriage fell apart at the time she needed support the most. She said she was legally married to a man who works as a judge, but after she suffered a stroke, he abandoned her and asked her to leave their matrimonial home.

“She explained to me that she was legally married to a man who works as a judge. According to her account, after she suffered a stroke, her husband abandoned her and asked her to leave their matrimonial home,” he said.

The situation worsened when she was removed from her husband’s medical insurance cover, leaving her stranded and unable to consistently access treatment.

“Although she had previously been listed as a beneficiary under her husband’s medical insurance, she was later removed from the cover, which has left her struggling to access continued medical care,” Mosiria added.

Her attempts to reach out to her husband for support have not only failed but have been met with intimidation, making an already painful situation even harder to navigate.

“She added that her attempts to reach out for support from the husband have been unsuccessful and have been met with intimidation, making it even harder for her to seek help or resolution,” he noted.

For now, the woman is staying with a friend in Mombasa as she continues her recovery, relying on goodwill and hope as she tries to get back on her feet. Recovery from a stroke is already a long road; doing it without stable support makes it even tougher.

“Currently, she has been staying with a friend in Mombasa as she continues with her recovery. She is appealing for support to enable her to continue with medication and improve her health,” Mosiria said.

Mosiria called on well-wishers to step in and assist the woman during this difficult period, sharing her contact information for those willing to help.
