‘Morocco 3.0’ review: Joshua Baraka goes global with French Montana and Byron Messia

By , May 16, 2026

Uganda music star Joshua Baraka has returned with another remix of his hit song “Morocco,” this time titled “Morocco 3.0,” featuring French Montana and Byron Messia.

Released on May 15, 2026, the track marks the second major remix of the song, following an earlier version featuring Shenseea, and further reinforces its evolution from an East African hit into a global collaboration.

The original “Morocco” was a massive hit. Released in 2025, it quickly became one of the biggest songs in East Africa, racking up over 3 million YouTube views. It dominated charts in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, becoming a street and club anthem, and helped push Joshua Baraka to become the most-streamed artistes in East Africa on Spotify.

The new version keeps the original Afrobeats–dancehall foundation but expands it with stronger international influence and a more polished sound. Joshua Baraka delivers his smooth, melodic hook with consistency, keeping the song’s identity intact.

French Montana’s presence

French Montana delivers a relaxed but charismatic verse that adds instant global weight to the track. His flow is effortless, switching between laid-back rap cadences and subtle melodic ad-libs.

He references Moroccan cities like Casablanca and Marrakech, giving the song a strong international flavour. His presence brings a commercial hip-hop polish, making the remix feel more global and widely accessible while still staying true to the record’s vibe.

Byron Messia’s energy

Dancehall artiste Byron Messia comes in with an energetic dancehall performance that sharply contrasts the smoother styles of the other two artistes. His verse is fast-paced, rhythmic, and heavily driven by Caribbean patois, adding raw street energy to the track.

He injects intensity and attitude, making the remix feel more dynamic and club-ready. His presence ensures the song doesn’t stay too mellow, balancing it with grit and motion.

Lyrically, “Morocco 3.0” stays consistent with themes of luxury, wealth, travel, and success.

The recurring themes of designer lifestyles, private jets, and high-end living position the song as a modern party anthem. It is built more for vibe and replay value than deep storytelling.
