Moji Shortbabaa overjoyed after baptising his brother
By Valerian Khakayi, March 30, 2026Kenyan singer James Muhia, widely known as Moji Shortbabaa, has shared a deeply emotional and joyful moment with his fans after baptising his younger brother in a special ceremony that marked a significant milestone in their family’s faith journey.
Taking to social media on Monday, March 30, 2026, Moji expressed gratitude and happiness, describing the day as a memorable one.
He revealed that witnessing his brother come to know Christ personally was a powerful and fulfilling experience, especially considering how far their family has come.
The award-winning gospel singer also reflected on their late mother, noting that the moment felt even more meaningful as they believed she would be proud watching over them.

“Yesterday was a big day. My little brother got baptised, and by God’s grace, I was the one who baptised him,” Moji revealed.
“Seeing how far God has brought us and watching him come to know Christ for himself is truly special. We know our mum is smiling down from heaven.”
In a light-hearted twist, Moji disclosed that the baptism did not go perfectly the first time, adding that he had to baptise his brother twice after the initial attempt did not go as smoothly as expected.
“But I had to baptise him twice, hakuingia kwa maji poa the first time,” he said.
He went on to thank his family for their unwavering support, as well as the church and its leadership for guiding and making the occasion possible. The event, held at City Lighters Church, highlighted not only a spiritual milestone but also the importance of family, faith, and community.
“Thank you to my shush and family for the love and support, and of course @citylighterschurch and Rev @georgemacharia for being used by God to make all this possible,” Moji stated.
The heartwarming post has since drawn reactions from fans, many of whom congratulated the brothers and praised the touching display of faith and brotherhood.
