Mkamburi Chigogo questions how BBL should look after healing

By , December 21, 2025

Media personality Mkamburi Chigogo has shared her questions and thoughts about what Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) results should look like during the healing process.

In a video shared on her official Instagram account on Sunday, December 12, 2025, Chigogo admitted that she is confused about what a BBL is supposed to look like while recovering.

“I need advice on something pertaining to bbls, maybe it is me who does not understand how bbl should look during the healing process, is it supposed to look like a box or a Robocop-type of thing, is that normal?” Chigogo questioned.

She went on to ask about how the procedure is actually shaped: whether surgeons mould it according to the natural flow of the body, or if someone needs to hit the gym to get a properly rounded shape.

Chigogo also questioned whether the “boxy” look is a common experience, particularly in East Africa, suggesting that some BBL results in the region may appear unnaturally shaped during the healing process.

“How do they mould it? Do they go with the natural flow of the body, or does someone need to go to the gym to get proper like round ? Because what is the point of going for bbl only to look like robocops,” she added.

“Is the bbl meant to look like a box whilst healing or is it just the East African ones?”

BBL healing process

Several Kenyan celebrities have publicly announced that they have undergone the booty-lifting cosmetic surgery.

On Friday, November 5, 2025, social media influencer Lydia Wanjiru shared her experience after undergoing the procedure, explaining the fears she had, how her body reacted, and the steps she has been taking during recovery.

She said she had been worried after seeing how other people healed, especially the darkening of the tummy area.

“I had feared that my tummy would go completely black/dark as I’ve seen from others’ healing process, but mine didn’t turn as much,” she said.

Lydia explained that every healing journey is different and reminded people that bodies never react the same way.

“You just have to stay in touch with your doctor and hospital in case you need clarification,” she said.

Lydia also shared how she knew her body was healing. She said the signs started on her left side, where she began feeling her skin itch.

“This is my left side. How do you know you’re healing? When your skin starts feeling itchy followed by intense peeling,” she explained.

“But I’d choose this any day, anytime, because how long would gym and dieting take me to get such a body?”
