Millie Odhiambo calls for the arrest of Russian man over viral videos of Kenyan women
By Paulette Mboga, February 15, 2026Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo has called for the arrest of a Russian man who has posted videos of encounters with Kenyan women online.
In a post on social media on Sunday, February 15, 2026, she expressed concern over the women whose faces have been exposed on social media. She said the man should be held accountable and jailed for his actions.
She said, “I wonder what the women implicated in the Russian criminal fiasco are going through with their faces all over social media.”
She added that while the arrest is important, society also needs to be honest about personal choices.

“If a random Kenyan man were to approach a decent Kenyan woman for sex, would she willingly show up without question the way the women did?” she asked.
Millie said society must rethink attitudes that suggest some races are superior. She added that even in a free world, self-respect remains important. Her comments called for both justice for the victims and reflection on cultural mindsets.
Concerns over privacy and consent
The Russian national, identified as Yaytseslav, also known as Vyacheslav Trahov, has attracted attention across Africa, especially in Ghana and Kenya. Reports say he used smart glasses to secretly record women during public interactions and in private spaces like hotel rooms or Airbnbs. His videos were shared widely on platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
In the clips, he is seen recording himself approaching women in public places like the Accra Mall in Ghana and shopping malls in Nairobi, Kenya. The videos raised questions about privacy, consent, and the ethics of filming intimate encounters without permission.

Millie Odhiambo said the exposure of these women online is harmful and called for strict action against the man. She urged authorities to take legal measures to protect women from such violations.
She also said the incident should remind society of the importance of self-respect.
