Music icon Meek Mill has thrown social media and rap fans into a frenzy after reaching out to J. Cole for a collaboration on his upcoming album.

The USA rapper took to X on the night of Monday, March 23, 2026, to write, “I need J. Cole on my project, wassup bro let’s get it in the studio!!!!!” sending fans into a wave of excitement.

After releasing four consecutive albums between 2015 and 2018, Meek Mill has taken longer breaks than fans are used to, making his latest moves especially notable.

J. Cole’s collaboration could be historic

A collaboration with J. Cole would mark the first time the two artists have worked together. Cole, who recently released his album The Fall-Off and is currently on a world tour spanning over 70 shows, is undoubtedly busy, making this potential feature even more anticipated.

In addition to teasing the collaboration, Meek Mill’s return highlights a career resurgence after several years where he was often the subject of jokes regarding his online presence and industry connections.

With the new album, fans hope to see him reclaim his spot among hip-hop’s most influential voices.

Meek Mill, known for his powerful flow and anthemic tracks like Dreams and Nightmares and Going Bad, has long been a staple of the Philadelphia and wider hip-hop scene.

While he has yet to win a Grammy, he has earned multiple BET Hip Hop Awards and received several Grammy nominations, including for Best Melodic Rap Performance, highlighting his impact on the rap industry.

Meanwhile, J. Cole, the rapper, producer, and Dreamville CEO, is celebrated for his storytelling, lyricism, and chart-topping albums such as The Off-Season and The Fall-Off. Over his career, he has won two Grammys out of over 18 nominations, eight BET Hip Hop Awards, a Billboard Music Award, and multiple other accolades, cementing his place as one of hip-hop’s most decorated artists.

A collab between these two heavyweights could be one of the biggest in recent hip-hop history, combining Mill’s high-energy, aggressive delivery with Cole’s introspective and melodic style a blend that fans have been anticipating for years.
