Leadership and responsibility in focus

Maureen Waititu also spoke about the meaning of leadership and what she believes it should represent. She said leadership should be based on justice, humility, wisdom, and care for the people. She added that leaders should not focus on personal gain or misuse of power.

She further explained that leaders are accountable for how they treat citizens and said that those in positions of power should always remember the responsibility they carry.

“True leadership is rooted in justice, humility, wisdom, and care for the people, not oppression, selfish gain, or abuse of power.” Maureen Waititu said.

She also added that leaders should be aware that their actions have consequences. She said accountability is important in ensuring that citizens are treated with dignity. According to her, leadership should always serve the people first.

“God holds leaders accountable for how they treat those entrusted to them.” Maureen Waititu said.

Her comments come at a time when Kenya is facing economic pressure affecting many households. Rising fuel prices and transport challenges have made daily life difficult for many people. The situation has led to public concern over the cost of living.

Media personality Willis Raburu has also recently called on the government to address the ongoing economic hardship. He said many Kenyans are currently facing pain and suffering due to the crisis. He added that urgent action is needed to ease the burden on citizens.

“Truth is, we are all in pain, we are all suffering. It is true the government must move to alleviate the crisis; even if fuel is a geopolitical issue, it has local ramifications,” Willis Raburu said.

He further explained that leaders from different political sides should work together to find solutions. He said both the government and opposition have a role to play in addressing the challenges.
