Manzi Wa Mombasa reveals she conceived Baby Chira through IVF, says she only dates women

Social media personality Manzi wa Mombasa has opened up about her journey to motherhood, revealing that she conceived her child, popularly known as Baby Chira, through in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

Speaking during an interview with MC Fagilia on Thursday, April 30, 2026, Manzi dismissed claims linking her to any male partner, maintaining that she does not date men and has remained consistent in her personal orientation.

“I don’t date men, by the way. I don’t do men. And to those wondering how I say that yet I gave birth to Baby Chira,” she shared.

She explained that her decision to have a child was independent and intentional, noting that she underwent IVF, a medical procedure in which an egg is fertilised with sperm outside the body in a laboratory, after which the resulting embryo is transferred into the uterus to establish a pregnancy.

According to her, the process allowed her to become a mother without being in a relationship, adding that she has documentation from the procedure to support her claims.

“Let me remind you that I did IVF. IVF is where you have an embryo transplant and give birth,” she added.

Manzi further revealed that the journey came at a financial cost, disclosing that she had to sell a piece of land in order to afford the treatment.

Addressing public reactions, she said that comments questioning the paternity of her child do not affect her, insisting that she made a personal choice and stands by it.

She also reiterated her support for the LGBTQ community, stating that her life decisions, including motherhood, align with her beliefs and identity.

“That means my child does not have a father. I even have the documents we signed when I agreed to the procedure, and I even sold a piece of land that I had to be able to pay for it. So those comments about me giving birth are just comments,” she added.

Warning to Marion Naipei

In the same interview, the TikToker cautioned social media personality Marion Naipei over her conduct at Salvation Healing Ministry, warning her against anointing people while still engaging in behaviours she described as inconsistent with church teachings.

Manzi wa Mombasa expressed concern over Marion’s role in the church under the leadership of pastor Victor Kanyari, saying that spiritual responsibilities should be handled with seriousness and integrity.

“Marion, I love you; you are my friend, but please stop anointing people. Please, please. It’s good to tell your friend the truth if you love them, so I am telling you that,” she said.

She said that while she considers Marion a friend, she felt compelled to speak out of concern, insisting that correcting someone publicly can still be an act of love.

She went on to claim that she had recently stepped away from church attendance, explaining that she felt she was not in the right spiritual condition at the time.

According to her, she had made the decision after what she described as personal struggles, adding that she chose not to attend church on a particular Saturday because she felt she had fallen short of her own moral expectations.

“That is why I recently quit going to church because I knew I had a lot of dry spells, and that Saturday I slept with my girlfriend the whole night. So when I woke up, I thought I should not go to church because I knew I had sinned a lot,” she shared.
