Media personality Lynn Ngugi has warned Kenyans about the actions of some influencers in the coming months.

In a long Instagram post on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, she said many will collaborate with the government for money and try to convince the public to support it.

“In the next few months, you are going to witness your favourite influencers completely collaborate with evil. They will gaslight you with all manner of excuses. They will try to convince you to give this government a chance. They will even rub it in your face,” she said.

Ngugi said the influencers’ choices are driven by financial needs.

“Because they have to work for the money,” she added.

She urged Kenyans not to lose sight of the truth despite these pressures. She reminded citizens that political dynasties have historically guarded their resources and that the hustler narrative was mainly used to win votes.

Remembering the bigger picture

Ngugi has asked Kenyans to consider the state of the country beyond politics.

“Don’t forget that as your parents retire, their parents are getting luxurious jobs. Don’t forget how much of a mess our education system is. Don’t forget how much of a mess our healthcare system is,” Ngugi said.

She expressed remembering those who fought for opportunities, saying, “Please don’t forget the ones who walked so you can run.”

Ngugi stressed that this is a time for people who stand firm and fight for what is right.

“This is the era of homeguards and real fighters,” she said.

She encouraged Kenyans to resist pressures to compromise their values, adding, “No matter how much they tell you to sell your soul, don’t do it.”

She also said making ethical choices provides peace of mind.

“You deserve to sleep better at night knowing you are not a sellout,” Ngugi said.

Her entire post highlighted the challenges of influence and politics in the current environment. She called on citizens to stay aware and hold to their principles despite pressures from popular figures who may have financial or political motivations.
